The Restoring Hope Counseling Center was created in the Fall of 2013. Chris Parks, along with his wife Lisa, felt led to create a counseling center that put the client first.
"Our goal is to strengthen individuals and families, to raise awareness of the possibilities of restoration through effective treatment while addressing and honoring the spiritual, emotional, and intellectual aspects of each person."- Chris Parks
Restoring Hope Counseling Center provides counseling for families and individuals who are experiencing stress, anxiety, loss, communication breakdown, trauma, abuse, discipline or parenting problems.
Chris began his career in counseling and therapy in 1983 when he graduated Colorado Mountain College, Leadville, Colorado, with an AA in Outdoor Therapy, followed shortly by his attendance at Missouri State University, Springfield, Missouri, where he obtained a BA in Therapeutic Services and John Brown University, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where he obtained his Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling in 2006.
Chris brings 40 years of experience in Missouri and Pennsylvania working in environments ranging from in-patient children's psychiatric hospitals to school-based mental health settings including Joplin, Missouri High School following the catastrophic 2011 F5 tornado. For the past decade, he has owned and operated Restoring Hope Counseling focusing on the principles of attachment theory and the harmful effects of trauma and its consequences upon individuals and the family system.
