What you can expect

Before you come in for your first full session, we will send you a password to download the documents below. Please print, read and sign them to expedite our conversation when we meet for our first session. During the first session we'll talk about your reasons for coming in and what you hope to gain from our time together. In that first session we will talk about confidentiality, fees and other important "housekeeping" items that are outlined in the documents you will be asked to print and bring in to our session.

Confidentiality
Any information revealed during therapy will be kept strictly confidential.  This information will not be revealed to any other person or agency without your written permission, with certain limitations. The release of information requires the written approval of every consenting member who was present during counseling.

Limits to Confidentiality
There are certain situations that counselors are required by law to reveal confidential information. These situations include:
1. An immediate threat of harm to yourself, the threat of you harming others or if you 
    require appropriate emergency psychiatric care.
2. Any physical abuse, neglect, or sexual abuse of children or vulnerable adults in

    the past three years.
3. Use of excessive alcohol or any illegal drug for non-medical purpose during a

    pregnancy.
4. Any sexual exploitation by health care professionals.
5. If State or Federal legal authorities mandate the release of your records.

Bring any questions you have as you read them and we can answer your questions at that first meeting.
